Product Description

The carbide composite material overlay welding rod, referred to as tungsten carbide composite brazing rod ,YD-type welding rod, composite rods is meticulously crafted from sintered tungsten carbide particles and a high-tensile alloy. It is coated with a special flux and colored to indicate the particle grade. The YD-type welding rod produced by our company,the tungsten carbide particle is mainly Co-binder tungsten carbide particles, with a hardness of HRA 89-91. The body's metal is primarily copper and nickel.The tensile strength of our tungsten carbide composite rod is 690MPa and its hardness is equal or exceed HB160. The YD-type composite welding rod needs to be used in conjunction with a base welding rod (YD-D) and a special flux (YD-R), both of which are supplied in proportion by our factory.

Application

 It is widely used in the manufacturing and repair of wear-resistant parts, cutting parts, and restoration for reuse in industries such as petroleum, mining, coal mining, geology, and construction. For example, it can be used for overlay welding on milling shoes, grinding shoes, centralizers, reamers, drill rod joints, hydraulic cutters, scraper blades, coal mining machine blades, core drill bits, pile driving drill bits, spiral drill bits, and other tools for manufacturing new tools. When the tools are worn, the welding rod can be used to re-overlay and restore the original dimensions.

The YD-type welding rods are divided into the following eight grades based on the carbide particle size:

YD-5: For milling shoes, grinding shoes, core drill bits, pile driving drill bits, bucket teeth, keyway reamers, blast furnace feeding chutes, road construction machine blades, etc.
YD-3, YD-10 mesh: For drilling stabilizers, drill rod wear bands, plowshares, drill rod joints, feed crusher hammers, etc.
YD-18 mesh: For drill rod wear bands, plastic, rubber, and leather filing tools, wear-resistant layers.
YD-30 mesh: For rubber and leather filing tools, wear-resistant layers.

Advantages of  our YD-type composite welding rods:
1.The carbide material is made from high-quality YG8 primary material that is crushed by top hammering, ensuring the material is pure and clean with good, stable performance.
2.Carefully selected multi-angular particles to ensure our composite rods provide excellent cutting performance and wear resistance performance.
3.The body alloy and carbide particles is well-integrated, and with uniform particle sizes as well as unique flux to ensures good rod fluidity and a better welding effect.

Overlay welding process: YD-type welding rods use an oxy-acetylene flame for overlay welding. The welding torch used should be larger than that used for normal carbon steel gas welding. The flame should be adjusted to a neutral or slightly carburizing flame. The position of the flame's tip should be strictly controlled and should not touch the carbide particles or the workpiece surface to avoid overheating. This is crucial for the wear resistance of the overlay layer and should not be ignored.

Welding should be done in a flat welding position; when using other positions, appropriate fixtures should be used.

Attention:The workplace must be well-ventilated to avoid health hazards.
